It was early on Bank Holiday Monday for the 20 Morgan drivers entered for the “Motors TV” round of our championship.
Fortunately the threatened rain held off for the 8.30am qualifying session and the 15 minute race 3 hours later.
The only casualty in qualifying was Stuart Anderson in the Bumble Bee racing class B ARV6 who somehow managed to destroy both “Bobby’s” chicane, and his nearly new Morgan!
Tim qualified the New Elms Class C Plus 8 on pole for the class, although Steve McDonald was the only other Class C car present.
With only the 2 cars in class it was not possible to gain maximum points, but in the event, Tim managed a win and fastest lap to give him sufficient points to lead the championship outright going into the MSCC Donington meeting later this month.
