The Morgan Challenge race series made its annual visit to Silverstone on 1st August by invitation from the Bentley Driver’s Club.
We were blessed with good weather and 40 drivers were on track for the qualifying session. Whilst professional driver Oliver Bryant set the fastest lap in Richard Plant’s Class A Plus 8 4.6, Tim was 14th on the grid and fastest of 6 Class C cars, just pipping Phil Tisdall by 33 thousandths of a second!
It promised to be an exciting race, and predictably Oliver won from Keith Ahlers. Class C was just as it had been in qualifying with Tim winning just 33 hundredths of a second ahead of Phil. John Bevan improved from a start position of 34th on the grid to finish 31st.
